What is so much better about Xbox live than Playstation network? And should i get it?

(i was gonna buy a wireless network adpator with my christmas money) My brother and my cousin keep saying im wasteing my money, but some people at school said get Xbox live, i already ply black ops on PSN, but not a lot of ppl i kno play it on PSN. Should i get it, and how is it better than PSN?

I no longer have my xbox because I sold it to get a PS3
