What is the best way you have found to set your western fenders so that they stay put?

Does anyone know how to set them with a leather wrap on the inside of the fender like new saddles with “pre set” fenders come?

I don’t know how much help this will be but, what I do is clean and condition the saddle first so the leather is pliable. I set the saddle on a stand and while the fenders are wet turn them and then I run a piece of 2×4 through the stirrups. I will let that sit a few days and repeat the process. Also, when I am not using a saddle, I’ll store it that way too.
I know what you mean about the preset leather “wrap”, but I don’t know how to do it, sorry.
