Overdrive Effect

How do I switch from an Overdrive effect to a clean sound?
I’ve been using a Boss GT 5 but I haven’t figured out how to use it that much. I can’t seem to figure out how to switch from an overdrive effect to a clean sound (with reverb and such). So I really need help.
Oh, and how do you reset everything because I think I did something wrong when I tried to do what i just asked. Thanks!
The user manual explains this and more. If you have lost your manual, then you can always get a one online for free…
The way I use the GT-5 is that I search for a patch which is closest to the one I want and edit from there.. then I build up the banks so that I have the sounds I want on the pedals. From there, it is just a matter of using the foot pedals to go from one patch (sound) to the next.
The unit is really self explanatory once you get the grip of how it is all tied together.
