What compressor would be best for me?

I have a fender strat that I play through a marshall. I’m trying to get closer to that Brent Mason-like country tone. I realize a compressor is not the only thing I’d need, but it’s close enough for me. I’m trying to decide which compressor to get. I tried out the Boss CS-3 and had no problem with it but I know the MXR Dyna Comp is a more popular compressor. Any suggestions as to which one is better? Are there even better ones for about the same price range? What are your thoughts on the MXR Super Comp vs. the Dyna Comp?
also, does anyone know anything about the MXR Custom Shop Vintage Dyna Comp?

“Putting the pop in country licks and helping slide parts sound silky smooth has long been a specialty of this king of stompbox compressors. The MXR Dyna Comp was quickly adopted this secret weapon by many ace Nashville session players such as Reggie Young and Jerry Reed—who used the script-logo versions on hundreds of hit recordings—and it was also a key tool of slide master Lowell George. However, you don’t have to be a chicken picker to appreciate the way it brings subtle nuances up front and tames aggressive pick transients. The Dyna Comp also makes clean tones warmer and fatter, and it provides nearly endless sustain when paired with a distorted amp or an overdrive pedal”

In the Guitar World issue, it was ranked #7

Here it on this song. “Walking on the Moon” by the Police off the 1979 album ‘Reggatta de Blanc’ for a good example.

You can also check out the BBE Opto Stomp (bassed on 60’s vintage compressors) or the Bench Press (based on the Ross Compressor). Unfortunately, they don’t make the Main Squeeze compressor anymore (but if you find one, try it out before you buy it). And all BBE Pedals are all 3pdt True Bypassed.

There’s the Dan Armstrong Orange Squeezer which I don’t think the original isn’t made anymore (I could be wrong), but you can pick up the kit from General Guitar Gadgets. Here that on “Sultans of Swing” by Dire Straits from their 1978 self titled album.

And last, there’s Build Your Own Clone.

The Classic & Five Knob Compressors are based on the Ross Compressor.

The Optical Compressor is a clone of the DOD 280 Optical Compressor

Though there are many to choose from, these are a few examples. Remember this: try or check them out before you buy. You might find a different compressor that’s better than the ones that I posted.
