Are tube amps louder than Solid State amps?

I know that tube amps sound a lot better but I have heard that they are louder at lower wattages and i want to know if that is actually true. I have a 100 Watt Solid state Line 6 Spider 4 played through a 4X12 cab with Clestion Vintage 30
’s and it gets plenty loud enough to be heard over the drums at band practice. I want to get an Orange amp head but want to save money and go with the 50 watt (if they are indeed louder). Played through the same cabinet, would this be loud enough?

Signal Output power (measured in Watts) is measured the same, whether using transistors or tube.
As long as you use the same measure (RMS, peak , or whatever).
So a 50 RMS signal from a tube amp can’t be “louder” than the same exact signal from a transistor amp.

However, there is also efficiency (measured in consumed watts ), Because there is less heat dissipated, I would expect transistor-based amps to actually be far more efficient than lamp-based amps.
