Valvetronix Guitar

What is a good Guitar brand and amplifier to use in a rock band.?
Me and my friends are starting a band, and im the lead guitarist.I already have a guitar, but its an acoustic..So I need some suggestions on a good guitar and amplifier that would be in a band.
One more thing, the tyoe of music we play is sort of the evanesence type.If that helps.
I have $1000 dolars to spend. Is it enough?
The best bang for the buck amps are the digital modeling amps – I would look at Vox Valvetronix series or Line6(the spidervalve series is especially nice). Get at least 30 watts – 50 would be better as you may have to mike the 30 to hear it over the drums. Put your amp on a stand, it will be louder if you get it off the ground.
As far as guitar start with Fender and Epiphone – they are the classic designs, but with you Evanessence style you may want to check out Ibanez or Schecter.
Whatever you buy – play it before you buy – try everything. You should be able to get a nice guitar and amp for $1k.
