Can I re paint gold trim on Vintage swirl, gold trim Fire King plates?
Bought a plate set, Hawking Anchor Fire King, Vintage swirl/ gold trim at a yard sale. Some of the trim Is faded on some plates. How can I repair if I can?
There is paint intended to be used on dishes and glassware. It’s made by Pebeo and many craft stores and art supply places carry it. You paint it on, let it dry, then bake the dish to set the paint. Supposed to be dishwasher safe after that. The only problem with that will be matching the gold that’s on the plates, because there are many different shades of gold, and the parts you patch are not likely to look exactly like the gold trim that was originally applied. You might want to experiment a bit on some other surface before you try it on those dishes, because once you have baked it on, it’s not going to come off.
