Soft Case
I have a student who just bought an Edwards bass trombone. What soft case should they buy?
Just looking for a sturdy and reliable soft case for a new Edwards bass trombone. Suggestions?
I would not go for a soft case–the trombone slide is rather susceptible to damage and if it gets just a little bent, you have an ultra-touchy, expensive repair on your hands.
I’d look for a foam case or a hard case. Those with slight damage, such as:

Cheaper new than other hard cases, they are lighter, generally they come with lots of exterior pockets that are useful for storage, and they can take a huge knock and the contents will be just fine. I have this type of case for my guitar, my cello, my mando-bass (!), and my shawm…and I need one for my flute!
