How much would it cost to get a guitar neck scalloped?
I have a BC Rich warlock. I want to get my frets 12-24 scalloped so I can have more control on the strings because I am unsatisified with the control. How much would it cost?
If you are unsatisfied with the control now you’ll be ready to throw the guitar through a window once it is scalloped.
Scalloping is for people that usually play with a very light touch and require the ability to “press” the guitar string for high speed vibrato. I know thousands of players, but only one or 2 that can take advantage of scalloping.
In my shop, I charge $20 per fret space for scalloping and I do not guarantee that it will come out right. I generally won’t even try it on guitars like Schecter, BCRich, Epiphone and those kinds because the fingerboard can be of poor quality… sometimes even made of plywood.
