What paints and lacquers are best to use for luster and durability when rebuilding an electric guitar?
What bonds to the wood best? What provides the best shine? I’m working on a very limited budget, so affordability matters. The most bang for my buck is what I’m looking for. It’s a second rate guitar, an old Series 10, but it is just a project my son and I decided we’d take on. The guitar is going to be for him to learn on when the project is completed, but I want him to be able to be proud of it and want to take care of it.
you can use automotive acrylics for guitars. prime it, paint it , then top coat it clear.
That’s the only way you are going to do it cheap. Otherwise you may have to spend more on some nitrocellulose
