Guitar Delay
when i connected my guitar to the computer, theres a delay between when i play and when i here the sound?
i wanted to connect my guitar to my laptop and ive got it working, except theres a delay between when i play, and when i hear the sound through the computer. any help would be great. thanks.
Look in the driver settings for your sound device for a buffer size(or possibly “latency”, this is usually something like 2048 or 4096 or larger, if you can, make this smaller. If you are using multitrack recorder software, you may need to lower the buffer size when recording and increase it when playing back multiple tracks or it might skip or glitch.
If there is no setting in the driver look in your software(whatever you are using to operate the sound trough the computer) settings for a buffer size or latency setting and make it smaller, the smaller this setting the less delay through the computer, but it may have trouble playing sound when many different tracks are playing or many different programs running when the buffer is set small.
