Dunlop Mxr

Dunlop Mxr
what is the best zakk wylde pedal?

I’m looking at the Jim Dunlop ZW38 Mxr Black Label Chorus pedal and thinking about buying it, but wondering if there’s anything better out there. thanks!

Zakk’s best signature pedal is the limited edition Roto-vibe he did with Dunlop/MXR. Mainly because the don’t make the original anymore…well they cut it every few years then bring it back.

The wah is nice. Its like a classic Crybaby on steroids. The other Black Label pedals are another story.
His OD pedal is essentially a more expensive Boss OD1.
His chorus is just a more compact version of the MXR Stereo Chorus (the big ol’ yellow one. As for his Phaser, just go with an MXR EVH Phase 90. The EVH model has the “Block” tone as well as a button for the vintage “Script” tone.

I love Zakk’s stuff, but his signature pedals really aren’t anything special.
