How should I set up my guitar pedals?

I’ve got a Big Muff distortion pedal and a Digitech Whammy octave shifter and I basically want to know how to hook it up, like the order. Like: Amp>cable to DW>cable to BM>cable to guitar? I’m trying to emulate the Jack White sound as best I can, that’s the pedals he uses, even got his guitar, but which way would I lose the least signal?

Your signal path is backward but good. You’d go guitar to BM to DW to amplifier and of course there are cables between all of that so you’d need 3 cables. The only tough choice is whether to run the Muff or Whammy first, on the one hand you might want one to effect the other but not the other way around. Confused? Me too. I would run the guitar into the distortion first and then into the whammy that way the you can distort the sound of the guitar but it wont get all wonky on you after its processed by the whammy. > that might not produce your desired effect. You should experiment though. Maybe the whammy first might be cool.
My simplified suggestion: Guitar > Muff > Whammy > Amp
