Blues Guitar
What is a great blues guitar that I can get?

I do a lot of country and rock and roll music and I have many guitars suited to these genres. I want to get into blues now and I need suggestions on a great blues guitar to buy. I like the older blues so something suited to older style blues would be great. I can’t afford a Gibson or anything else in that price range but I can afford anything up to about $1000. Thanks!

If you have Country and Rock guitars, you probably already have a good Blues guitar. It sounds like you want something new, though….

Blues guitarists have used any number of guitar types, though, so whether you decide you want a Les Paul, Tele, strat, 335 semi-hollow, or even a flying V, it’ll work (and it’s been done by the greats) and work with your Rock stuff, too. I’d say go with “vintage” or PAF pickups (opposed to modern) and a good tube amp and you are set.

Oh, then there is the resonator style of guitars if you are thinking along the Delta slide avenue. That’ll be pretty unique compared to what you have now.
