How diffrently do ash and maple stain?
I am building a guitar, and I have and ash body with a lacewood facing and a maple neck. I plan on matching the color of the lacewood (it has a reddish tint) to the ash and maple. I am only staining the ash and maple, then doing a clear coat over everything. So would I be able to stain the ash and maple with the same stain, or would I have to match them using different stains?
Maple can have big heavy dark stains if the piece is right . Ash is a lighter grained wood GL
